About the College

Catholic University Pharmacy opened in March 2011, and was selected as an 'Excellent New Pharmacy' by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2011, and was accredited in 2019 by the Korea Pharmacy Education Evaluation Agency. Our Pharmacy aims to train pharmacists who are knowledgeable about medicine, pharmacists who put patients first, and pharmacists who help patients with a warm heart, as well as global-level talents who have the basic theories necessary for the development of new drug candidates and drug development. To realize this goal, we have secured the highest level of faculty and research and education systems with bold research investments and state-of-the-art equipment. In addition, we have a strong medical network that is differentiated from other pharmacy schools, so we can create synergy through the convergence of pharmacy and advanced general hospitals, and furthermore, we have established and implemented a vision to become a hub of biomedical sciences that leads the development of new drugs by collecting R&D and clinical achievements.

Major Course Guide

Pharmacy is represented by the phrase 'the flower of applied science', and accordingly, the curriculum of the pharmacy major consists of various applied subjects of pharmacy based on biology, physics, and chemistry with the goal of training pharmacists who can contribute to society in various ways. In the third through fifth years, students can intensively acquire general knowledge of pharmacy through theoretical and laboratory lectures, and in the sixth year, students can take pharmaceutical, community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and research practical training courses, all of which are designed to train pharmacists with a combination of knowledge and experience.

Enterprise Pharmacist working for a pharmaceutical company In a pharmaceutical company, pharmacists play an important role in managing and directing the production of all pharmaceutical products. Pharmacists may also work in marketing, where they oversee the development, licensing, and marketing of new products; in pharmaceutical research, where they determine the marketability of drugs; in quality control, where they oversee and investigate the entire manufacturing process in drug manufacturing plants; and in pharmaceutical laboratories, where they work to develop new drugs and improve the quality of existing products.
Pharmacist working for a pharmaceutical wholesaler Drug wholesalers are responsible for the storage, management (including those related to narcotics), and import/export of drugs.
Other Pharmacists can also be involved in the production and management of products for cosmetics and food companies, allowing them to work in a variety of health-related manufacturing sectors.
Agencies and Organizations Public (government) pharmacist Technical administrative positions in charge of health administration at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, or public health centers; research positions in charge of conducting experiments, evaluating, and approving drugs for safety; or administrative work and health and hygiene inspections at public health centers, city, county, and district offices, hospitals, and medical centers.
Professions Pharmacists opening community pharmacies and pharmacists working in community pharmacies After graduating from pharmacy school and passing a national exam to become licensed as a pharmacist, pharmacists can open a community pharmacy or work for a community pharmacy as a managerial pharmacist.
Hospital pharmacists Pharmacists may work in general hospitals or in pharmacies within hospitals of a certain size. As a hospital pharmacist, you will work as a pharmacy professional in a hospital, applying your specialized pharmaceutical knowledge in a team setting with a variety of healthcare personnel

Academic Activities

PharmD (Pharmaceutical Dream, an academic club)

The only academic club at the Catholic University Pharmacy that discusses topics related to pharmacy and participates in fairs. We organize an annual academic presentation competition and other activities.

Palm Light (service club)

As a volunteer club for the Catholic University Pharmacy, we belong to 'Communus', a volunteer club for the Seoul Metropolitan Area Pharmacy. Our own activities, such as volunteering at a dog shelter, and Communus activities, such as pharmacy service, mural painting, and career lectures for young people, are held often. Every year, we recognize members who have done their best in volunteering through the King of Service Award.

Unipulo (Biopharmacy Club)

An herbal medicine club that investigates and studies various herbal medicines that can be found in the environment. The club organizes annual field trips to herbal gardens to gain an intimate approach to herbal medicine and to socialize through herbal medicine-related activities such as herbal infusions and house beer making.

Pharm Pong (Table Tennis Club)

The table tennis club at the Catholic University Pharmacy is a healthy way to relieve stress. We hold regular training sessions in groups and organize group tournaments every semester, as well as table tennis tournaments that are open to all students and professors at the Pharmacy.

YAKAK (Pharmacy + Chalk, Photo Club)

YAKAK is a memory repository for memorable moments. YAKAK is a photography club where members go out to nearby photography spots to take pictures and socialize, and they also organize various activities such as visiting restaurants and holding photo exhibitions. The club strives to capture the emotions in their photos.

Livestock (Soccer Club)

The Catholic University College of soccer club is a club where students play soccer with each other to build friendships. In 2019, the club won the national runner-up in the National Pharmacy Student Festival Athletic Competition, and it has also achieved excellent results in on-campus and off-campus soccer competitions.

Yakkuk (Basketball Club)

As the official basketball club of Pharmacy, we practice basketball on campus every week, and we also organize external activities through competitions with other schools.

Yaksent (Band Club)

Yaksent is a band club united by their love and passion for music. We play free music and usually prepare for performances. In addition to performances at Gyakin's Night and Jeon Yakjeonje, we regularly hold joint performances with Ajou University and Dankook University School of Pharmacy.

Cloud9 (Dance Club)

Cloud9 is a dance club at Catholic University Pharmacy that performs at the Poor People's Night, the National Pharmacy Student Festival, and the Dance Club Union Meeting. It is a club where you can make meaningful memories by synchronizing with each other regardless of your dancing ability.
